Weddings
Dozens of them over the years, usually for people I know.
A wedding is a different job than a fundraising banquet. There is no number to hit and no appeal to run. There is a timeline, a family, a photographer who needs six more minutes, and a room that should feel like it is being taken care of rather than managed.
What carries over is the part that matters: knowing when to talk and when to get off the microphone, keeping the program moving without rushing anyone, and reading a room well enough to know which moment needs a joke and which one does not.
If you are planning something and think I would be a fit, use the same form.
